Health Behavior Change
It is commonly known that sport is an essential part of humans’ life, but not everyone follows this rule. Sometimes, due to lack of free time, and more often because of laziness, individuals do not pay attention to this aspect of their lives and forget that dynamic life not only makes humans happier but strongly influences the state of health.
I am concerned about this by the reason of such influence. I used to underestimate this effect because I did not feel bad or unhealthy, and I was pretty sure everything to be fine. But this confidence did not last for a long time as I was in pressing need to change my lifeway. The reason was to turn my energy into the right direction, so I decided to start going to the gym.
The more oxygen my body receives, the healthier I am because this gas takes part in every chemical reaction of my body, and it is essential for the life of each cell. Another important aspect is the deoxygenated blood which movement is caused not only by our heart but mostly by the reduction of body muscles. With no sport activities, the blood lingers in veins and stretches them. It complicates the work of heart and does not let the oxygenated blood bring the oxygen to cells. All this can cause the death of body cells, veins extension, and in the worst case, hypertrophy (overgrowth) of heart’s muscles what later leads to heart attack.
I used to disregard the sport due to the causes described in the beginning of this essay. But, the more I wait, the more I loose in this case. This is the reason why I want to change my health behavior. More sports and dynamics, more breaths, and less passivity are the keys for my healthy future. The easiest way to achieve this aim is to make sport a habit, and that is what I intend to do. As it is said, “Sport every day keeps the doctor away.”
